My Position As The Cell Phone Manufacturers Corporate...

Over the course of our Corporate Social Responsibility Simulation many difficult decisions had to be made that had real and major impacts on our companies’ success and the view that the public had on the way the executive board ran K-Tai. My position as the cell phone manufacturers Corporate Responsibility and Ethics Officer (CREO), has been a vital one which has helped keep K-Tai in a positive public light when it came to the ethical decisions our company made when real issues were at hand. One decision that played a significant factor when we were deciding how to market our products was picking the right well-known figure to represent our brand. This decision was presented to us early on in year 2 and we were given the options of a Hollywood actor, a football player, a popular children’s character, a tennis player, a teenage pop star, and an Olympic swimmer to be our brands spokesman. At first, our team was considering an athlete like the football player or the tennis player. The football player has seen success in his career the past few years and is looked at in a positive light by the community for all of his work that he has done with his foundation that he started to help children, so he was a good prospect for our spokesman; while the tennis player is a little bit passed his prime but has been a pillar in the community for a long time although he does tend to have a wild side that steered us away from picking him as our spokesman.
